A Weekend Workshop
This workshop will introduce you to the tools that have helped Ruthy create, produce, and perform three of her own one-person shows. The workshop will demystify the process of starting with a concept for a show and seeing it to its fruition.
Through writing exercises and a safe, supportive environment, you will learn how to overcome your fear of not being a writer, how to find your story, create characters, and tell the truth in a fun and unique way. We'll also cover important aspects of producing your show such as budget, booking a theatre, publicity, working with a director, and more.
Creating and performing a one-person show can be scary, but fear doesn't have to stop you from telling your story and having a good time doing it.

"I got a ton out of the workshop and feel like I can really do a show now, where as before I had no idea how to start, didn't think I could write or even had a story to tell. To get over all of that is a huge achievement and wouldn't have happened without everything you gave us last weekend. I'm super grateful!"
-- Denise T.
"Ruth has an amazing ability to glean the essence from a piece and to instill her love of the form. I came in with nothing but curiosity, and after two days of workshop, I had the beginnings of a show, guided by her adept and encouraging feedback."
-- Cynthia S.
"Ruth opened my eyes and heart to my own story. I had many ideas of what story I wanted to tell and it was through her workshop that I got to play in a safe space. The workshop taught me how to keep writing and to have fun writing and how to flesh out those ideas that keep popping up. I am forever grateful. It has been a full year since I took Ruth's workshop and I am up and running a show of my own! I am so thankful I followed my gut to take your workshop. Thank you Ruth. I am forever grateful! Thank you once again for a fabulous workshop. You really created a safe, fun space to allow me to blossom. I got exactly what I needed."
-- Esther F.
"I REALLY enjoyed the workshop. Thank you so much!"
-- Lisa S.
"Your energy and enthusiasm were inspiring! Also your personal knowledge of the process itself - I feel you gave me several useful tools for proceeding."

"Your spirit, energy, organization, expectations were all very high and so, so helpful at a difficult time - birthing a piece is not easy."
-- Helen W.
